I went to a jumble sale this week and this was quite the star find! My friend picked it up and told me that (for a pound) I had to buy it for the piece it is. Reader I did. Then Reader I married him.
Just kidding, because this is highly bridal, or debutante, or edgeh first communion. We had our doubts about my wearing it to a social function, mine mainly based on me spilling things down myself, and my housemate's was that it was a step too far, even for me. She commented that it looked like the 90s doing the 70s, which sounds great to me!
Suffice to say, I was wearing the longest and whitest dress by far that evening, but I looked pretty regal in it, floating around the nibbles table, eating a whole hedgehog's worth of cheese and pineapple sticks. Nothing dropped on myself either!
There comes a time when you should get your style on and wear the thing you thought you'd never have an occasion to wear. That exact occasion may never arrive, so best to seize the moment and sling it on. Chances are you'll make it work better than you'd ever expect, and you'll feel amazing for taking that risk!
Last night I conquered my fear of wearing white; I'm ready for anything now!
