Claire is wearing a zebra scarf (in hair) [Blue Rinse Vintage shop], green cotton-blend dark mint dress [charity shop], white, black and pink patterned belt [charity shop], grey-topped thermal socks [George at Asda] and white creepers [charity shop].
Covadonga is wearing a men's black shirt with fruits and flowers on [vintage sale].
Braving the slippy and highly uneven paving stones in my creepers, which I'm sure will be a character building experience. I'm really enjoying the monochrome accessories paired with a central coloured item, simple yet effective, and oh so easy!
I had one dilemma today, in that I didn't want to wear tights, the dress would stick to them, but I couldn't wear leggings as they woulds peak out and ruin the line of the dress. This is the only time I have seen the merits of cropped leggings. But, alas, I don't own any, so I've expertly rolled my full length leggings up underneath the skirt of my dress. Sneaky!
The nice thing about long-ish elegant dresses like this, is that they're practical owing to their length and nice non-clingy skirt, and they have mash up potential. You can dress them lady-like, or edgeh and casual, like today, when I sling on a men's denim jacket before I brave the winds outside. You don't have to be a girly girl to wear draped sleeved and pleated skirt dresses, you can nearly always incorporate garments into your own style, or wear them for being distinct from your own.
There are no real rules!!
