Day One Hundred and Seven

Claire is wearing a pair of gold hoop earrings [Superdrug], star-shaped flower necklace [charity shop], grey cotton t-shirt [table top sale], yellow, red and dark blue on light tan tartan mini-skirt [Leeds Kirkgate Market], black tights [Spanish hosiery shop] and tan leather boots [Topshop].
Covadonga is wearing a large pale blue, lavender and green flowered scarf [charity shop].

Braving new lengths today and embracing my new miniskirt! I got it this week for a quid in the market; it has no label, but it's lined and I doubt it's handmade, looks too neatly pleated. I don't own many short skirts, so I thought it's about time I branched out. The ones with the pleats are very flattering, more so than the tube, bodycon ones, as they flare out meaning you can a) move and b) still have a nicely hinted-at shape. The pleats flatter my rear, even it resembles a kind of bizarre lampshade. The high-waist panel continues before the pleats begin, so it looks longer, so my legs look longer! The high-waist contrasts with the length nicely, and it means I can tuck in my tops too.
The traditional print on this skirt makes it classic but a tad school-girlsih, but hey I like hockey and I'm not going to wear it with a tie, so I should be ok on that front. The print also has several colours in it, so Icould mix it up with differ coloured tops, but for now, keeping it simple with some coordinating red lippy and gold dangling items.
It looks very Clue-less-esque: I feel like a 90s teen heroine (Cher and Dionne) or queen bitch (Regina George). I read a Buzzfeed article a few days after buying this, about the longevity of Clueless fashion trends, and the check/tartan skirt was high up on the list!
And, yes, you can sit with us, all stylish ones welcomed here!
