Claire is wearing a green scarf with brown roses (in hair) [charity shop], racing green men's silk shirt [Spanish charity shop], pink multi-coloured belt with gold edging and buckle [charity shop], red long wide-leg culottes with purple and magenta flowers and purple dots [vintage, from Pop Boutique Manchester], tan leather boots [Topshop].
Covadonga is wearing a pair of red cotton leisure wear trousers [jumble sale].
I know this outfit looks very similar to a previous ensemble from this week, except the shirt is bigger, greener and a higher class of fabric. On the plus side, I'm mastering the art of clashing dressing! The red and green (or red and blue) combo is looking splendid. I can't believe I didn't try it out before!! It's all so easy to wear and I look bright and cheerful (combating inner tiredness from the culottes outwards). Likewise my scarf continues to amaze. I think it's the slightly thicker than usual fabric, which allows a gentle luminous vibrancy to the green, which is enhanced by the brown roses. It's just too lovely!
Bad hair day also...
Don't get me wrong, I love repetition and routine, especially if I can wear something more than once before it requires washing, but I feel I am in a work-wear rut. Not that school placement should morph into a catwalk, but I know some of the students have an eye for all things fashionable. The idea of having to wear black trousers and a shirt every weekday for the next 50 waking years of my life terrifies me, so I should be making the most of being formal/colourful while I'm young and part-time enough to do so!
My aim for next week is to mix and mash up my work-wear (and to create an outfit not involving culottes, leggings/shirt combo or the black skater skirt).
I will rise to the challenge like a rainbow. And they're so exceptional that they go full circle!
