Claire is wearing a dark teal scrunchie [Leeds Kirkgate Market], blue stones gold necklace [charity shop], sky blue and gold beaded necklace [charity shop], teal and blue silky dress [vintage New Look, from a charity shop], long blue hand-knitted cardigan [knitted by my Nan], pale mint culottes [Wallis, from Leeds Kirkgate Market] and white creepers [charity shop].
Covadonga is wearing a large scarf with green, blue and mauve roses [charity shop].
I am an ocean. An ocean of fabric. I have swirled around all day in my mint cotton, the wide leg culotte is such a great leg statement and with some kind of platform to elevate myself above the fabric so I don't trip up and flail like a fish in my fabric sea.
Moreover, I'm doing something I thought only 90s celebrities did, and did badly: the dress-over-trousers. It's not that I couldn't decide what to wear today, I just fancied being all blue. I also wanted to try out long, loose layering. All the Ls. And it it's worked nicely! I've swirled around feeling powerful, because of the fabric = power equation; especially with my added height I felt like I was wearing a modern kind of cape!
In relation to accessories week, I'm also in the blue layers! I've combined two different textures and lengths so it looks like one ornate chest piece! I love the sparkly blue stones; they look fake-expensive, as you can tell they're not real sapphires, but at the same time, the necklace knows it's not expensive, but it's happy to be hanging off my neck and sparkling all the same!
It's not how much it costs (no-one will know unless you left a tag on and that's just annoying and scratchy), it's how it makes you feel and how you wear it. With extra fierceness and sparkle, stylish ones!
