Day One Hundred and Forty

Claire is wearing a pale floral halterneck dress [Spanish vintage shop], white frilled socks [Morrison's] and pink flowered hi-tops with magenta ribbon laces [Converse, from a friend, ribbon from Leeds Kirkgate Market].
Covadonga is wearing a sky blue satin bow tie [charity shop].

In great contrast to yesterday I've got my 1950s pinkathon going on today!
I bought this dress about a year ago and then the British winter arrived, but now the summer has finally rolled around, I can bring it out.
It has a thick halter strap with buttons that look like those cubes in Dolly Mixture. The dress has pale pink, beige, lavender and mint green wavy petaled-flowers. They look so delicate in the waves of my skirt. The skirt billows so intensely when I walk down the stairs I had to stop as I couldn't see the next 4 stairs. Between that and the wind today, it's all Marilyn Monroe. It's also all very saccharine!
I feel like a 1950s girl who blows bubbles with bubblegum and serves people burgers and milkshakes while on roller skates. It's all so feminine and pretty.
There's also something about a low back that in this style of full skirted dress, that's just the right side of cheeky-slash-respectable!
