Today is a sunny day! Therefore, it is time for the brights to bloom.
I always think winter colour palettes are one excuse too many to indulge in head to toe black and big black coats and big black shoes. It's all so dark, I mean, it is a dark time of year but I don't see how blending in is any help, especially in regard to road safety. I like this time of year on a good day like today, where it's cold but sunny, clear and bright. We are nearing spring, so I feel extra justified for wearing bright clothing.
Florals are great fun for all year round. The useful thing about them is the multiplicity of colour means you can match them with several different other garments, all in-keeping with the floral item. My flowers are yellow, but have purple bases, blue centres and green stems, so a spectrum of colour matching is open to me!
Long skirts are also a year round winner. The extra fabric in winter and autumn insulates, but in summer and spring it swirls and looks fab without you having put any though into it. They're great for movement, which ensures they elevate the simplest of outfits just by your walking.
Remember stylish ones, fabric is a power symbol to be used wisely. Too much and you will be swamped and hem tripping, and too little and you'll be too cold and self-conscious to use any of your superpower. The middle ground we seek contains enough swish, swirl and swashbuckle to tower above everyone else, and leave them gasping in awe as you saunter on through.
