Claire is wearing a burnt orange and mushroom striped and patterned dress [from Nan], tan belt [charity shop], grey-topped thermal socks [George at Asda] and white creepers [charity shop].
Covadonga is wearing a black mesh shirt with white flower lace [Wallis, from a jumble sale].
The weather is more fickle than I am, judging by the rain and grey clouds today. As if getting dressed in the first place and dressing for hot weather wasn't hard enough, we now face rain. So I've got my creep on, with thermal socks because why would you be encasing your feet in anything else this summer (they're thick enough to fill out the slight over-sized nature of the creepers, which I think are actually men's shoes).
One of the great things about clothing is the history it carries with it. As an only child, I had hand-me-downs from Mum's friend's older children (they lived on a farm so I was well decked out in warm Peter Storm fleeces) and now I'm older I'm stealing my Nan's and my Mum's clothes. Kind of a forced fabric inheritance if you will! I nabbed this dress as Nan was planning on donating it to charity, I liked the pattern and the shape. The tones are earthy and I love the burnt orange and the hint of sailor in the wave and compass circle thing. It's lovely knowing that I get to keep and wear part of my family history, like epic recycling!
Every edgeh individual knows to keep it in the family!
