Day One Hundred and Sixty Eight

Claire is  wearing a red-striped jungle print scarf [Spanish charity shop], gold, pink an blue leaf and squiggle print top [charity shop], cobra arm cuff [Baudaluke, Spain], tan belt [charity shop], grey denim shorts [charity shop] and brown gladiator sandals [Stead and Simpson, from a charity shop].
Covadonga is wearing a blue pineapple print skirt with beaded fringing [River Island, from a charity shop].

I bought these shorts yesterday; I have finally found a pair of denim shorts which are long enough to be daytime comfortable! They're high-waisted (TICK!), my arse fits in them (TICK!) and the legs are nicely wide and come down my thighs far enough so sitting on plastic chairs/wooden benches is comfortable (TICK!). All in all a good find, and the fact that they flair out makes my waist look smaller as it forms a triangle! They also have nicely deep pockets and a long zip with a popper, so practicalities are all accounted for!
I decided to wear my top, but saw that it hung over my belt. There's a fine line with baggy tops over high-waisted items: too loose and you hide the top of the aforementioned hip triangle. So I tied mine in a knot, keeping it low at the back.
Also, giant hair today. Sometimes I feel a need to dramatically increase its volume and feel superstarish. I fold a ponytail over and wrap the end around the base with the bobble, then pull it so the bun section fans out and then pin it so it puffs up! The scarf helps to a) hide roots and b) contain the hair if it starts to deflate.
Finally, I'm wearing an arm cuff that's a snake! The only thing is that you have to tighten them so your arm can bulge around it making your arms look more insulated than they actually are, and if you have nay arm muscles, I possess some, it can be odd to be constricted when you tense your bicep. It also left a silver mark on my arm...
But edgeh!
